"There's nothing in motion and I'm satisfied / No disappointment until I wake up / I don't wanna wake up.."

Music: Dishwalla - Until I Wake Up
Mood: confused

(Sooooooo pretty! Courtesy of the Chosun Ilbo.)

Today, I found myself in a dilemma.

It's been awhile since I've updated this blog, so here's what's going on:

Two weeks ago, I joined an online dating site as a joke. Turns out, I'm extremely popular there. Although I've received messages from dozens of guys, there are two that have stood out to me, and it is these two guys with whom I have spent the most time talking.

Emotional maturity? What's that?

Music: 2PM - 기다리다가 지친다 (2PM - Tired of Waiting)
Mood: conflicted and fickle

(Because you can never have enough Jokwon gifs.)

I over think everything.

My emotions are way too easily swayed.

Not by external forces, but by my own mind.

I hate myself for this.

FOCUS.

That is all.

"추억이 흘러 내린다 / 따라 눈물도 흐른다 바보처럼.."

Music: 휘성 - Rain Drop (Wheesung - Rain Drop)
Mood: dying ㅠ______ㅠ

I think I might be sick. D:

My head hurts, my throat hurts, my hands hurt, my body aches... And just like when I was little, I'm becoming whiny and pathetic.

Soooooooo not fun. :(

Unfortunately, I can't take tomorrow off because of two things: (a) I have a hanzi quiz, and (b) the proposal for my history research paper is due.

Boooooooooooooo. Do not want.

Or, as Jokwon would say:

ㅋㅋㅋ I just wanted an excuse to use that .gif.

But seriously, I feel like crap. I just want to drink tea and turn the heater on high and snuggle up in my warm bed with all of my pillows and blankets and go to SLEEP until Monday, but I can't.

This is the third time this semester. When did my immune system get to be so crappy?

On the plus side, I totally thought of a scenario for my Chinese final.

Every semester in Chinese, our professor makes us do some sort of oral presentation for our final exam. Skits are preferred, but last semester we had the option of writing a story and presenting it (I did one about mice), and this semester we're allowed to present the paper that we're writing for the written part of the exam.

I HATE presenting things alone, so I'm all about the skit.

My idea is that Mindy (one of my classmates) is a famous popstar, Tim is her manager, and the other guy (whose name I STILL don't know) and I are her rabid fans. We stalk her after a concert or something, except she's a mean popstar and doesn't want to sign autographs, so we take videos of how mean she is and blackmail her.

..shush, it'll be fun.

And now, I'm off to find primary sources for my research paper. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find English-language primary sources on the Communist Revolution in China? It's difficult. If I'd realized that this proposal was due tomorrow, I would've asked my professor for suggestions beforehand.

Grrrr.

Blast to the (recent) past..

Music: 리쌍 & 이효리 - 헤어지지 못하는 여자, 떠나가지 못하는 남자 (LeeSsang & Lee Hyori - The Woman Who Can't Break Up, The Man Who Can't Leave)
Mood: amused

(The epitome of absurdity, The Great Race. Oh Jack Lemmon, you're so magical..)

Sometimes I write the most cryptic things.

Going through my favourited tweets on twitter, I discovered this gem:

klutzow LOL. "This looks like...love, doesn't it?" "It looks like you're 100% in love." "Love? *takes a bite of food* This tastes like love!" XDDD

..wtf? XD

Whatever I was tweeting about sounds hilarious, but I can't find any mention of the title of this show. Back in June I watched many, MANY dramas due to my enormous amount of spare time. I'm not even sure what country it was from.

I really want to know what show it was, because it sounds delightfully absurd. :D

..OMG I KNOW. ..oh wait, no I don't. DAMMIT. This is going to bother me for awhile.

EDIT: It's 流星の絆 (Ryuusei no Kizuna). :D That show was AMAZING for all the right reasons. A tightly plotted revenge drama interspersed with well-done comedic subplots and adorable side characters (Kaname Jun! ♥), all melded together quite nicely. I need to rewatch it.

There's really not much else to say at the moment.. There's a lot of construction going on outside our house, which is annoying. I'm not sure what they're doing, but there's now a big hole in the road. YAY. [/sarcasm]

More proof that I'm an idiot. YAY.

Music: Fly to the Sky - 한 (Grudge) (One of my first FTTS songs. This song does things to me..)
Mood: embarrassed and freaked out

(JJ wants to play.)

AHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M AN IDIOT.

I posted something last night that I didn't want a certain person to see, and I just realized that he has access to this blog.

SO.

Yeah. That post is gone now. I'll repost it on my friends-locked LJ later. Maybe.

GOOD JOB, KARA. YOU'RE SMART.

Guess I should be more careful with this blog, huh? ^^;

Live report: One Korea with Brian, Kil Gun, and Soy (or, how Kara fell in love)

Music: Brian - 가슴 아파도...
Mood: in love

(A fan shot of the stage. Brian's off to the right. I'm further to the right, not too far from him, just off-camera.)

I saw my future husband on Friday night. :D

I went to the One Korea concert on Friday night, and it was AWESOME. I was one of the only non-Koreans in attendance (I think there were around 10 of us total), so all the tiny Korean girls (who then seemed even shorter because I was wearing heels) were staring at me, wondering who the hell I was and why I was there. I could understand everything they were saying, though, so I was more amused than disconcerted. JayJ and I passed the time in the line by grading papers from her math classes (she student teaches) and joking about how dumb her students are. (Princess decided not to come with us.)

The concert hall was the main auditorium of the Christian Heritage Academy, so there was only an 880-person capacity. We didn't even fill it all the way, though, so I estimate that there were perhaps 500-600 or so in attendance. JayJ and I got pretty good seats on the right side of the auditorium, 10 rows or so back. There was no one sitting directly in front of me, so I got a great view--perfect for taking pictures and video! (I'll post them when JayJ uploads them.)

26 October 2009

And then Kara's brain exploded from AWESOME!

Music: JJ Lin - 主角 (feat. MACHI) (Leader)
Mood: excited

(Poster for the event fangirled about below. From One Korea.)

OHMYGOD.

October 30th. Chicago.

A concert featuring none other than Brian (ex-Fly to the Sky), Kil Gun, and Soy. (I actually don't know who Soy is, but she's one of the acts.)

..BRIAN!

My love for Brian is fairly quiet and nowhere near as exuberant as my love for his boyband counterparts. Still, I love that kid. I love his voice and his personality and his sense of humour and his darling baby face. I want him to be my ridiculous and embarrassing older brother, and have him introduce me to ridiculous and embarrassing things. Spending time with him would be a laugh a minute.

For those of you who don't know, Brian was one half of the power duo Fly to the Sky (the other half was Mr. Voice, Hwanhee/Fany). Although he wasn't "the voice" of the group, I've always loved the way he sounds, and I was sad when the duo split up. Apparently I missed his solo release back in 2006, but I recently discovered it and have been listening to it on repeat. He's not a power balladeer, but his vocal talents aren't unrespectable.

Brian is also hilarious. He was born in NYC, so he speaks fluent English (which has gotten less fluent the longer he's lived in Korea), and he has a silly sense of humour.

And now, he's holding a concert in the States. In Chicago. The day before Halloween. FOR FREE.

Kil Gun is also going to be there, and while I'm not really familiar with her work, what I have heard is AMAZING. That lady's got a killer voice, and awesome dance moves.

(I have no idea who Soy is, so let's just move on.)

..I am SO GOING.

There's also an after party at a club in downtown Chicago, and JayJ and I have already decided we're going to that too. I doubt we'll see Brian there (there's both a private and a public section of the club, and he'll probably be in the former), but it'll be exciting to even have a possibility of seeing him there. And even if we don't see him, clubbing is fun!

I don't know who else I'd get to go with me, though. JayJ can't make it to the concert, and I don't want to go alone, but the only other person I can think of who might be interested is Mae, and she's in Korea (lucky whore). I might be able to convince Ginger to come, if only for the after party aspect (she used to go clubbing in Japan and misses it), but I'm not sure. Princess is another possibility, but her medication means she can't drink, and she doesn't really know anything about Kpop beyond TVXQ.

It's less than a week until the concert, though, so I really need to start asking people.

..not right now, though. Right now I need to finish my history paper which is due tomorrow.
